Privacy policy

This page explains what goal-grids.com collects, why, and what your rights are. I keep things minimal on purpose.

Responsible operator

The operator and the person responsible for data protection is the operator named in the Imprint.

Account data

When you create an account I store an email address, a username, and a hashed password (bcrypt). I use this to sign you in and to associate the grids and entries you create with your account. Nothing is shared with third parties.

Cookies

I use a session cookie for authentication so you stay signed in, and a small cookie that remembers your language. Both are first-party and necessary for the site to work.

Analytics

Page views are tracked with a self-hosted instance of Umami (umami.is). Umami is configured to be cookie-less and does not store IP addresses or any personal identifiers. It tells me how many visits a page got, not who visited it.

Contact form

When you send a message through the contact form, your name, email and message are transmitted via SMTP through Migadu (my email host) and end up in my personal inbox. I use the email only to reply to you.

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is sent via the same Migadu SMTP path and stored in my inbox. I'll only email you newsletter content. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any newsletter email.

Hosting

The server is hosted with Netcup in Vienna, Austria, and is fully under my control. No managed services, no third-party administrators have access.

Server logs

Like every web service, the server records standard request logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp). These are kept short-term for security and debugging and are not used for profiling.

Third-party processors

Email (contact form, newsletter, account-related mail) is processed by Migadu, a Swiss email host. Switzerland has an EU adequacy decision for data protection. No other third-party processors are involved at the moment.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or export the data I store about you, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these, just email me. Your account will also be deleted on request.
